COVID-19 Update

Players and Parents,

First and foremost I hope everyone is staying safe during this challenging time. I hope that we are all doing our part to ensure the safety of others but also to ensure our kids get a chance to have a season. With that being said, I truly believe we will have a football season and some form of a summer. I am working closely with our administration to figure out what a summer could look like and when we may know more. In the next couple of weeks I will be sending out a scenario schedule in order to plan accordingly. Like you I am searching for answers to all questions at the moment. I am working with our AD as well as a couple coaches to set up a zoom meeting with our players. If anyone has questions, email me or have your kids ask during our meeting. I truly cannot wait to get on the field again. In the meantime please stay safe!

2020 Season Notes from January 30th Parent and Player Meeting

REGISTRATION

Coach Heinz presented a full review of the 2020 budget totaling over $100,000, which breaks down to program costs per player of $800.

  • $800 will be inclusive of all costs and can be fundraised.  Coach’s intention is to complete fundraising and payments by the end of May, prior to the 10-day team camp. Special circumstances regarding ability to pay can be reviewed with the Booster President or Vice President and/or Coach Heinz.  Players will be offered a fundraising plan to raise funds by June.  There will be no separate fees for weights, camp gear, etc., but be aware of the separate  mandatory district sports fee due  in August.

Registration will include:

  • Use and maintenance of player equipment and new Adidas jerseys as required
  • Team meals, pre-game food, and sports nutrition after summer training
  • Camp gear to include compression shirts and shorts as in past years
  • Coaching: contracts, coach certifications, trainings, and gear
  • Game-day filming and Hudl
  • Summer training for strength, speed and agility

SCHEDULE

Coach reviewed the 2020 schedule from February through the first game of the season.  Pleaser refer to the calendar below.

FUNDRAISING

Fundraising efforts will be condensed in the next four months to offset the costs of registration.

Discount cards will be distributed in the next week.  Coach will collect checks as a deposit for cards.  If the card envelope is returned with funds totaling $200, the check will be destroyed.  If cards and money are not returned by 6/7, the checks will be cashed.  Players can start immediate selling immediately as cards are valid 3/1/2020.  Parents can make alternate arrangements for card pick up by emailing legacydiscountcards@gmail.com.

Program ad sales can also start immediately.  Forms were distributed and will be available on the www.goboltzfootball.com website.  In addition, the boosters will be looking for team meal sponsorships this season. Families are encouraged to ask family, friends, and alumni through sponsorship.  Details are on page 2 of the sponsor flyer.  Contact legacyfootballads2020@gmail.com with questions.

VOLUNTEERS

The booster board is looking for a representative for the incoming 2024 freshman class.

Freshman and JV parents will be assigned concession stand volunteer shifts for all home games.  Shifts will be one half of each game.  Families will be responsible for coverage and/or finding a sub for assigned shifts.

The boosters are always looking for families with talents to share.  Consider offering services from your business, lending your expertise in a fundraising area, recruiting restaurants to provide team meals, etc.
